Coaching Services

Coaching services are an opportunity to learn specific skills and resources to achieve a desired goal. If a client is struggling with mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, or processing any level of trauma, psychotherapy is the more appropriate service.

Parent Coaching

One of the most difficult jobs in life is raising another human being and all children are different.  Even though numerous resources are available, there are times when behavioral problems are best solved through a more formal teaching experience.  My coaching approach focuses on training parents behavior modification techniques to improve behavioral compliance. There is also emphasis placed on building and maintaining a healthy relationship between the parent and child.

Adolescent and Young Adult Coaching

I began my career in academia working with college students so I am particularly interested in early intervention for adolescents and young adults who are experiencing challenging life transitions. The process of coaching with this population can especially be helpful in managing the feelings of anxiety and stress. My coaching approach focuses on improving daily functioning levels and the client’s overall satisfaction in life.

Stress Management Coaching

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a method of using meditation and yoga to cultivate awareness and reduce stress. It is based on the ancient practice of mindfulness, which is about waking up, being fully alive, and being present for the richness of each moment of our lives. Within this awakening, we gain access to our deepest inner resources for living, healing, and coping with stress.

Clients can learn to practice present moment awareness, deep relaxation, and gentle movement. Through the use of these techniques, a person learns to discover and observe his or her reactions to life’s stressors and to choose how to respond. With practice, one can apply these skills to everyday situations and connect more fully with one’s self, loved ones, and the life one is living. The coaching component provides an opportunity for the client to improve self-awareness and balance in their life.
